EZMiscellaneous Thoughts and Ramblings for the week.
EZSelfie of the week: A few weeks ago I received a FaceTime call from Blake & Violet. During the call Violet was taking all kinds of pictures of me which inspired me to take a picture of her.
I just finished reading Dr. David Schwartz's The Magic of Thinking Big.
I enjoyed it because each chapter provides lots of what I like to call 'pep talks.' You know, those times every now and then when you need a little nudge to get you off your butt and do stuff.
It's a good book that provides many motivational quotes. I've underlined and dog-eared many of the pages.
Here are a few quotes from the book:
"The body is what the body is fed. By the same token, the mind is what the mind is fed...Stretch your mind. Get stimulated"
EZUpdate of the week: In my post two weeks ago I wrote about purchasing a yoga/exercise ball to replace my desk chair at work. Well I've been using it now for over a week and I am happy to report...I like it! I thought my abs and back may be sore after using it because it forces you to use your core more while sitting on it, but I'm happy to report that all is well.
Here's a picture of my stand up/sit down desk at work (in the stand up position). Look closely and you should recognize the pictures on the wall.
"All the successful, competent people I know are busy."
"Look at things not as they are, but as they can be. Visualization adds value to everything. A big thinker always visualizes what can be done in the future. He isn't stuck with the present."
"Be a front seater...Sitting up front builds confidence."
EZNeighbor of the week award goes to...Mee!!!: My neighbor Andy has been battling moles off and on for the better part of 6 months. He and his wife Kim swore that they would 'get that mole' with juicy fruit gum. According to a 'mole expert' friend of theirs, you put juicy fruit gum in the mole holes, and the mole will then eat the gum, choke on it and die.
Last Saturday afternoon as Yvonne & I returned home after running errands we couldn't help but notice that the mole holes and mounds of dirt on Andy & Kim's property were increasing exponentially. So I called Andy and volunteered my services. He said to "go for it" because obviously the juicy fruit wasn't getting the job done.
I set the trap Saturday afternoon, checked on it Sunday and made a minor adjustment by centering it in the hole a little better and look what I found Tuesday morning before I left for work. The biggest mole I've caught yet. He's probably that big from eating all of the juicy fruit gum.
EZComing Soon: The kitchen before and after remodel pictures and maybe a timelapse video of the process.
